Manassas Transfer and Delivery Service was started in 1962 retailing used furniture, making deliveries and moving household goods. In 1981, we became incorporated as Manassas Transfer, Inc. We will soon be celebrating our 46th anniversary. We attribute this longevity to our many customers, our many repeat customers and most of all, to the professional personnel we are fortunate to have in our employ. Manassas Transfer has grown from three men and one truck to a company with 28 employees (which increases to 50 during the summer season) and to a fleet of 35 trucks, tractors, trailers and packing vans. We service customers who need local moves, moves within the state of Virginia or who need storage for their household goods. As an agent for Stevens Van Lines, we also move customers who need the service outside of the state to anywhere in the United States, Canada or overseas.
“As our business grew, it became necessary to expand our storage capacity. In December 1997, with the assistance of Linda Decker of the Flory Small Business Development Center, Inc., we were able to build our new facility at 10440 Colonel Court, Manassas, Virginia. At the new facility, we have 40,000 square feet of warehouse storage space, 27,000 square feet of office space and 200 self-storage units. With Mrs. Decker’s expertise and knowledge, we were able to work with the SBA to finance our new building. I personally cannot express strongly enough my appreciation for all the assistance received from the Flory Small Business Development Center. They are an enormous asset to our business community.”
